If you want flaky nannies, weird candidates that don’t speak the family language you specifically requested, and agency support that takes days to respond in emergency situations, this is the agency for you. We spent 2 months onramping a nanny (Aoibheann who goes by Jamie, listed on their site) for our 18mo to help when my partner goes back to work and I have to finish a consulting contract. Exactly the weekend that we actually started to need her because my partner’s parental leave was ending, Jamie flaked on us, blocked us on all forms of communication, and still had our apartment key. To note, we had been nothing but supportive of her previously and had accepted the almost 50% absence rate she was racking up. The agency replied 2 days later and have yet (2 weeks later) to find us a replacement.
