The best option is to go by taxi or train to the Castel. Try to go early in the morning like 10 am. After the visit take the boat back to Stockholm. You will avoid the crowd and enjoy the ride. The 12:00 o’clock back ride was empty.

Achtung Unglaubliche Abzocke. Die Boote werden total überfüllt und dann wird das Restaurant mit ca.50 Plätzen der Zahlenden Kundschafft verwährt. Wir mussten über eine Stunde auf dem total verdecktem Fußboden sitzen. Total unfreundliches Personal, man soll auf dem Boden essen. Versiffter und ungepflegter Zustand. Absolut Nicht zu empfehlen!

We took this ferry from Stockholm to Drottningholm Palace return. The queuing for this boat is an absolute schemozzle. There are no signs, no barriers, no Indications on how to queue and every time, at least 10 times a day 7 days a week 365 days a year the confused customers of this boat service cram into a tight v to get on board getting unnecessarily angry with the other customers. Coming from an ordered country like Australia I find it hard to comprehend how such a practice by this company could continue for so long without change. Apart from that it’s a standard ferry service but has limited outside seating.

Avoid traveling from Stockholm to Drottningholm, it is complete chaos. They have no managed queuing system going to Drottningholm as they are using a shared quay. We arrived early for our booking and were asked not the queue, but wait to be called forward. When they did so, one person who had just arrived ran forward and declared themselves as the representative of a tour party or 50+ people, so immediately we were not getting an outside set to enjoy the trip!!! When we objected and pointed out we had arrived early to ensure an outside seat, we were told by the crew that is was tough luck!! Take public transport to the palace, and the boat back as they have a proper managed queuing system at that end!
